Privacy statement

Growth Spark, a sole proprietorship registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK 99348225, establishment number 000064432890, at Kinkerstraat 142 A 3, 1053 EG Amsterdam. Growth Spark is the controller for data processed through this site.

For privacy questions, or to exercise any of your rights, write to august@augustvonk.com. You will have an answer within four weeks.

This site has no accounts, no contact form and no advertising. Until you answer yes to the analytics question, three things are stored on your own device:

• NEXT_LOCALE, a cookie remembering whether you are reading Dutch or English. Strictly necessary for the site to serve the right language, so it is not subject to consent.
• av-theme, stored in your browser, remembering light or dark. It never leaves your device.
• av-consent, stored in your browser, remembering your answer to the analytics question. It never leaves your device.

None of the three identifies you personally, and none of them is shared.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 loads and two further cookies are set:

• _ga, valid for 2 years, gives your browser a random ID so repeat visits count as one visitor.
• _ga_JJSX6GNYQK, valid for 2 years, keeps session state for this particular property.

What is measured: pages visited, how you arrived, your approximate location at city or region level, and general device and browser information. Google masks your IP address before storing it. Advertising features, remarketing and Google Signals are off, and no data is sold or used for advertising.

The legal basis is your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. While you have chosen nothing or refused, nothing loads: not a single request goes to Google. Google Ireland Limited is the processor; data may be transferred to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Retention in Google Analytics is set to 14 months.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Withdrawing takes effect immediately: measurement stops in the same tab and nothing loads on your next visit. Cookies already set do not disappear with it — clear those in your browser.

I also use Google Search Console to see which searches this site appears for in Google. Search Console stores nothing on your device and shows only aggregated figures in which individual visitors are not identifiable.

Pages are served by Vercel Inc., with edge locations inside the EU. Vercel is a processor.

Standard server logs may record IP address, timestamp, browser and requested page. Those logs are needed to deliver and secure the site; the legal basis is legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Vercel keeps them briefly under its own policy and they are not used for analysis or profiling.

You can change or withdraw your answer at any time. Withdrawing takes effect immediately.

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to object, and the right to data portability. Withdrawing consent is always possible and costs nothing. Write to august@augustvonk.com.

If you disagree with how your data is handled, you have the right to complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority.

If what this site measures or stores changes, this statement is updated and the date at the top changes with it. If a new tool requiring consent is added, you will be asked again.
